How else does one become as good on drums as he is? Very sure of what he wants and how he plans to get it. Joey can be seen on the front cover of Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. - the picture is called 'Patiently awaiting the jigsaw flesh.' He is very much the ideas man and writes much of Slipknot's music and lyrics, also plays guitar In his freshman year, in Waukee High; Joey was part of a band named, "Avanga". However due to a lack of motivation from other members, Joey looked elsewhere - Music was his only escape. Joey soon started a new band with neighbour Tim, "Modifidious". It was a "speed-metal-thrash" band and 15 songs were written in quick succession. Soon a bassist, Ryan, was found along with a guitarist named Jay (formerly of Avanga). The band, with new guitarist Bruce, had their headlining slot as a support to Jim's band, "Atomic opera" at the Runway. Bruce soon left Modifidious to join Atomic Opera and as a result a new guitarist was required, he arrived through Ryan. His name was Craig (med Dizzy.

Joey in Slipknot

+ He's the shortest and most talkative member of the 'knot.
+ He is the main drummer and he has the acoustic set.
+ He created the term 'Maggot' for a Slipknot fan (in fact this term stands for worms that lives in corpses, but it isn't meant as an offence!)
+ He had written a lot of Knot's lyrics. (Most famously the lyrics to Scissors, and the choruses to Surfacing & Spit It Out)
+ He also wrote most of the music - together with Paul.
+ While recording MFKR he scribbled a funny, childlike picture of a monster with big, long claws and crazy hair. He wrote Corn Wallace under it. Later Anders used it to sign his biographical writings he had done for the band.
+ He mixed the self-titled album.
+ He can also be seen on the cover of Mate Feed Kill Repeat - sitting naked in a metal cage, which was made by Shawn, Joey, Paul and Anders.
+ He created the Tribal-S logo
+ When Slipknot wanted to recruit Corey, went Joey, Mick and Shawn into Corey's porno sho inspired by Tommy Lee.
+ Joey's drum-riser was designed and half-made by Shawn (who's a welder)
+ In the song Dogfish Rising from MFKR he plays guitar and drums.
+ Slipknot dedicated the MFKR album to Joey, but to another Joey (Plumley) : he was the younger brother of Frank, a close friend of Paul. He accidentally shot himself in the face and died the year they recorded that CD.
+ At first couple of shows, Shawn and Anders were the only ones to wear anything at all. After taking count of their stage show, Joey suggested that they ALL should wear something.
+Joey came up with the basic idea of keeping their identities hidden. (He said that nearly everyone agreed with him cuz most of the band were KISS fans, and KISS covered their faces too, but in make-up).

Joey in Murderdolls

+ He's playing guitar there.
+ He and Wednesday 13 are the songwriters in the band. In fact Weds wrote the majority of lyrics (as songs were used from his old band Frankenstein Drag Queens) and together with Joey they swapped and reshaped the songs and made them fit into the Murderdolls' sound.
+ He plays all drum tracks on the record Beyond The Valley Of Murderdolls (because they didn't have Ghoul or Eric at the time of recording).
+ Also he played some rhythm guitar, some lead guitar, some bass and does backing vocals in the band.
+ He really enjoys playing guitar, wearing make-up and twisted clothes and drag.
+ He wrote the songs 'Let's Fuck' and 'I Take Drugs' in 1995.
+ He describes their records like "Not another record with depressive lyrics! Just fun!"
+ Wednesday says in almost every interview that Joey is an amazing human being and that they share a love of horror movies and glam rock.
+ And also that they're constantly joking with each other.

Random Shit

+ He is one of the best and fastest drummers in the whole of metal history
+ First records he bought : KISS "Alive" and Ozzy Osbourne "Blizzard Of Ozz"
+ His favourite movie : Phantasm. But he also loves The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and other movies.
+ His first instrument : Guitar - he started with it at the age of 5. He played drums only because he was in a band playing the guitar and the drummer wasn't cutting it... so he just filled in.
+ He has done a kickass remix of M. Manson's song Fight Song that appeared on the Resident Evil Soundtrack. He is also a great fan and friend of Manson.
+ He hasn't fucked with the mask on yet. (he says, LOL)
+ He used to work at Sinclair's gas station in Des Moines, but soon he got fired, because he was scaring away customers.
+ He still lives with his mum, in fact, in the same bedroom he's slept in since he was 2. Awww....
+ He appeared in Marilyn Manson's video Tainted Love. (really short cameo where he's sitting on a sofa withnow who Fiona is (there were loads of questions about her in the guestbook) there is some info on her and a few photos
+ His favourite drink : Vodka OJ with a twist of drugs.
+ He did the backing vocals on a song 'Nothing Left' from the Burning Red record (Machine Head)
+ In his opinion, the only similarity that Slipknot have with satanism is that they are self-indulgent.
+ When Ross Robinson discovered Slipknot and went to see them practice, Joey was counting off the first song. He counted to 3 and dropped the drumstick.
+ Language other than english: "I wanna fuck" [haha]
+ He weighs 120lbs
+ On the Murderdolls Board there are rumours [Just rumours] that he sometimes takes crack but.. who knows?
+ Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) said in one interview while touring with Murderdolls that he will probably be a drug addict at the end of tour... and Joey and Wednesday replied that they gotta kick his ass
+ He has loved horror movies, splatteLinda.
+ Joey and Casey Chaos have really special relationship - Listed in Chasey's favrioute drinking partners are Joey and Paul. And there are many stories of Casey carrying Joey back to the Slipknot tour bus and putting him to bed drunk as fuck. LOL.
+ He says on Kerry King (Slayer) after he played a set with Slipknot: "He is the only guy not in the band to wear a jump suit".

Name: Joey Jordison
Slipknot: Drums
About A talkative, diminutive lead drummer, Joey has long black hair with vivid red-steaks, and wears a plain white, expressionaless Japanese kabuki mask
"The blank expression suits me. Just don't call us a 'pro wrestling' band - I'm short and I can't wrestle!"
Lovingly refers to Slipknot fans as "maggots".
Quote "Ross (Robinson) is insane! Once when we were recording here he threw a potted plant at me. It exploded on the wall all over my head and the dirt went in my mouth. It was awesome!"
"When I first came into the band I was like, 'I have to be either in this band or I have to destroy it because it's so good'"

Joey says he chose Number 1 because : "Well it works for me because it's kind of a pivotal thing for being in the bands like have to lay all the drums and guitar work. I'm always the person that has to lay something down or be the cement of the band. That's where the 1 thing came from for me."
And on his mask .. "I didn't want to be just held down by one thing, I wanted to keep the whole thing like all options open. Like it's not something you can be held down to. It can be beautiful, it can be ugly, it can be disgusting, it can be all those things. Right now it's got like weird looking scars on it and shit. I'm marketing it up a lot different so it doesn't necessarily look the same. It's cool man I just want people to get out of it what they want." www.joey.wz.cz
